Mask jellyfish

暖化使水母增生,進而改變海洋生態。掠食水母的魚類減少,加上與水母競爭食物的小魚被大量捕撈製成魚粉或飼料,這些因素使得水母數量迅速增加。聯合國糧農組織(FAO)指出,過度捕魚導致水母大量增生,是地中海和黑海漁獲量減少的原因之一。水母作為掠食者,會吃掉魚群幼生及魚卵,進一步導致魚群補充量減少。

為了讓海洋回復原本的狀態,達到物種平衡並實現永續利用,我們需要減緩溫室效應、減少廢水排放。

Global warming has led to the proliferation of jellyfish, which in turn alters marine ecosystems. Fish that prey on jellyfish have decreased, and small fish that compete with jellyfish for food are heavily harvested for fishmeal or feed. These factors contribute to the rapid increase in jellyfish populations. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), overfishing has led to a significant boom in jellyfish populations, which is one of the reasons for the decline in fish catches in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. As predators, jellyfish consume fish larvae and eggs, further reducing fish stock replenishment.

To restore the ocean to its natural state, achieve species balance, and ensure sustainable use, it is necessary to mitigate the greenhouse effect and reduce wastewater discharge.
