Echoes of the Gaze
《目光回聲》是一件以「AI 的觀看」為核心的視覺實驗，探索人類面孔在演算法解讀下的轉化過程。觀眾的影像經由臉部分析與 AI 生成技術重構，化為漂浮於數位空間中的語言與形體，並在動畫結構中逐漸透明、粒化、消散。此過程象徵人與機器之間的視角交換：我們凝視影像，同時被影像中的「他者」回望。作品不僅呈現 AI 的運算結果，更揭示其在觀看過程中對人類的「第一印象」與感知方式。當肉身被轉化為數據，主體性是否也在無形中交付？《目光回聲》在真實與虛擬、感知與記憶的交界，構築一場關於觀看權、感知邊界與數位存在的詩性對話。
Echoes of the Gaze is a visual experiment centered on “AI’s act of seeing,” exploring how the human face is transformed under algorithmic interpretation. Audience images are reconstructed through facial analysis and AI generation, dissolving into language and form that float within digital space, gradually becoming transparent, pixelated, and dispersed within the animated structure. This process symbolizes an exchange of perspectives between humans and machines: as we gaze at the image, the “other” within it simultaneously gazes back. The work not only presents the computational results of AI but also exposes its “first impressions” and modes of perception when confronted with the human visage. As the body is translated into data, is subjectivity also invisibly surrendered? Echoes of the Gaze stages a poetic dialogue at the threshold of reality and virtuality, perception and memory—probing questions of visual authority, perceptual boundaries, and digital existence
